Investigations and Surveys

S. T. Hudson Engineers' hydrographic survey teams utilize both shore-based range-azimuth positioning systems and differential global positioning systems (DGPS); the results are downloaded into our CADD system to produce a variety of useful graphic presentations, from a simple two-dimensional sounding plan to a three dimensional model color-coded by depth.

Our certified hydrographers and engineers also consult on a variety of dredging related issues, including preparation of specifications, pre- and post-dredge surveys, monitoring or siltation rates, volume calculations used in payment quantities, and assistance in obtaining required local, state and federal permits.

S. T. Hudson Engineers Inc. uses various survey methods including hydrographic, side scan, scanning sonar, and divers' investigations to acquire data necessary to help our clients with dredging, debris removal, feasibility studies, and condition surveys. Most jobs require an initial investigation survey to help our engineers best serve our clients.

Our certified, in-house survey teams allow us to be flexible in scheduling and respond quickly, if necessary, to an emergency call. The in-house teams translate to higher quality in our work because of the constant communication between the engineers and surveyors and lower costs to the owners due to no additional sub-contractor costs.
